Book Review - Alienated by Melissa Landers

Alienated by Melissa Landers

goodreads summary:

Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them. Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class. Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

I rated Alienated a 5/5 stars. Honestly I love aliens, I would pick any book up without hesitation if it had aliens in it. So yes you could probably call me a Si-Fi freak!
I heard about this book while watching booktube videos and decided that this was a book that I was really interested in, so I purchased the book online and I was so excited to read it.
Within the first 5 pages I was already obsessed! By the time I was 20 pages in I had already named this one of my favorite books!
As I have already said, I love aliens, and in this book aliens have made contact with humans and Cara was chosen to be a host of an Alien exchange student, I found all of this so interesting and I had to find out what happened in the rest of the book.
It came to the point where I was excited to finish the school day and head home and read, How crazy is that? And I actually like school aswell!
Ok now it's time to talk about Aelyx, the alien who become Cara's exchange student. I LOVE Aleyx, he is definitaly an awesome character and he is most definitaly swoon worthy!
Also I love Cara! She is so funny and brings lot's of laughs into this book, her sarcasm is to die for!
Lets talk about the Romance now, ok I have to admit, both Aleyx and Cara's relationship is pretty damn adorable. It's also really interesting because you don't really expect aliens and humans to fall in love do you?
Also this book is in both Aelyx and Cara's perspective so you get to know both of their feelings and thoughts about the new species they will be meeting.

Overall this book is AMAZING and I definitaly recommend this book to any Sci-Fi lovers or any YA readers! :)

Book Review - Legend by Marie Lu

Legend by Marie Lu

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem. From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

I rated Legend a 5/5 stars. One of my favorite genres is Dystopian so I was super excited to start reading this book. This book has major hype and I needed to see what all the fuss was about, I picked this book up and I was about 20 pages in and I thought oh my gosh this is amazing, and I could'nt put the book down after that.
I love both the characters Day and June, they are both unique and truly good characters, also their names make everything sound so interesting and make the story so fun to read!
Legend is super action packed and also so gripping. When I was reading this book it made me curious about what happens next and this to me is such an important quality in a book.
LOVED this book and I absolutely cannot wait to read the next two books in the trilogy.

If you are new to Young-Adult reading I definitly recommend Legend to you, I guarantee that it will leave you wanting more! :)

About

I recently just created this blog so I am not the greatest at all this blogging stuff! Anyway.. I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you guys a lil bit about myself :p

My name is Chelsea and I am 15 years old.
I live in a small country named New Zealand, just across the ditch from Australia. If you think my country is just the land of sheep and kiwi's, I think you might need to do a bit more research ;)
My hair is the colour blonde, and when I mean blonde I mean really blonde but don't mistake me for the stereotypical dumb blonde, I'm not like that..

I enjoy everything summer! If you are looking for me around the summer season I will probably be hanging around the beach surfing and just enjoying the sun in general! I love spending time outdoors doing all different kinds of fun crazy things! Even though I spend lots of time doing sports, I always have time to enjoy a great book! I'm always reading in my spare time! :p

As for this blog, it has been running for only a very short time and more improvements are happening all the time.
I write book reviews and will soon be starting with book-to-movie adaptations, discussion posts and much more so stay tuned.

If you have any questions or just want to chat in general you can email me at:

Book Review - The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner by James Dashner is starting to become very popular! Recently the movie has just been released and the books are now getting a lot more hype than before. I read the Maze Runner a few months back and I would love to share my non-spoiler review with you!

If you do not know what the Maze Runner is about, it is about a boy named Thomas who wakes up in a elevator, all his memory's have been swiped and all he knows is his name. The elevator arrives at this place called the glade, its in the centre of a maze. There are also other boys in the glade, stuck in the same situation has Thomas. Thomas and the others have to find their way out of the maze, without getting killed!

I loved this book very much! The action was super intense and I could not stop reading this novel! The story is really gripping and it
everything is super creative and unique. I have heard quite a few bad reviews on this book but I ignored them and read the book anyway, And I am so glad I did, This book is one of my favorites. Its action packed and awesome, and also has moments of laughter which makes it a super fun read! I definitaly recommend this book and I gave it a 5/5 stars!
